Imagine sitting in a steaming and bubbling tub of hot water while raindrops patter against the ground all around you. Rain can offer you the most relaxing hot tub experience possible if you know how to enjoy it the right way.
Since fall is upon us and winter is quickly coming up, we here at ThermoSpas have come up with some simple tips to give you the most luxurious experience possible in your hot tub while it’s raining.
Remember, it is never safe to use the hot tub during a thunderstorm.
1. Warm up your bath robe and towel
This easy little trick will help to transform your everyday soak into a wonderfully sensual and soothing experience. All you have to do is stick your bath robe and towel into your dryer for a few
minutes before you’re ready to use the hot tub. Then, when you take them out, they should keep you toasty while you’re walking out of the house and into the hot tub.
Hopefully, your towels will stay warm until you’re ready to get out of the spa. But we know from experience that many times we end up spending more time in the hot tub than we planned. If you can, leave your towel sitting in a warm and dry place while you’re in the spa and ask a loved one to bring it out to you when you’re ready to get out.
2. Wear slippers to keep you from slipping
The last thing you want to experience when walking to the hot tub is falling and hurting yourself. Unfortunately, walking on the wet pavement barefoot to your spa greatly increases your chances
of doing this. To help reduce the risk of slipping, make sure to wear slippers or shoes outside while you’re walking to your spa. Try to find a dry spot near your hot tub to leave them while you are
soaking.
Slippers should also help keep your feet dry and warm. No one wants to have freezing and soaking feet on the way to the hot tub.
3. Shield Yourself From the Rain with an Umbrella or a Hat
Though hearing raindrops hit the ground all around you is relaxing, having them hit you may not be as nice. Luckily, the latter is easy to avoid. All you have to do is bring your umbrella out with you and lay its handle in your hand while you are soaking.
If you want a more hands-free hot tub experience, you can either buy an outdoor market umbrella that will stand over the hot tub corner and cover you, or you can simply wear a large-brimmed hat.
4. Sip On Something Warm
The outside of your body shouldn’t be the only part that benefits from the healing properties of warm water. Your insides should enjoy them too! Make yourself a tall cup of hot chocolate or tea to enjoy in the hot tub.
Once you start sipping on your hot drink, your entire body will fall into a deep state of relaxation. Just remember to use a stainless steel thermos bottle or cup because you don’t want glass breaking in your spa! These beverage containers will also keep your drinks warmer for longer.
5. Put Moisturizer on Your Face During Really Cold Times
If it’s really cold outside and you have sensitive skin, make sure to apply moisturizer designed for cold weather. This will protect your skin from the low temperature, keeping it from drying
and cracking. Products with a cream base are better for your skin in the cold than those that are lotions. They also tend to be a bit thicker.
After you apply your moisturizer, make sure to thoroughly wash your hands so that you avoid getting any in the hot tub. You should also keep your face above water while you have moisturizer on it.
If you follow these tips, you are sure to have one of the most soothing hot tub experiences possible. Do you have any more tips for spending time in the hot tub while it’s raining? We would love
to hear them!
