Great news! ThermoSpas is expanding its Seasons of Giving hot tub donation program in 2008. Instead of donating four ThermoSpas hot tubs to children who will benefit from warm water therapy, the company will give 12 ThermoSpas hot tubs—one a month—to kids in need.

ThermoSpas launched its hot tub donation program, Seasons of Giving, in 2002. To date, 16 recipients--with illnesses ranging from Cerebral Palsy and Muscular Dystrophy to Fibromyalgia, MPS and Pereventricular Heterotopia have benefited from donated ThermoSpas. Each of these children’s parents reports that daily soaking in the hot tub has significantly improved their child’s quality of life. Each of the 2008 Seasons of Giving recipients will receive a ThermoSpas Triton Elite (retail value $11,995) which has 46 jets for therapeutic massage and many ergonomic safety features recognized by the Arthritis Foundation with the “Ease of Use” Commendation. Not only will the ThermoSpas Triton Elite provide these children with a chance to move and play more freely on their own, but it will also offer proven therapy:

• Muscle relaxation, which can reduce muscle spasms
• Decreased gravity, which increases breath control
• Improved trunk control, balance and coordination
• Increased mobility and range of motion
• Increased strength and endurance
• Improved length and quality of sleep

Here are the requirements for participation in the ThermoSpas Seasons of Giving hot tub donation program:

• The child must be between the ages of 3 and 18 by February 29, 2008.
• The child must live in the continental United States.
• The child must have an illness that is verifiable by the child’s physician.
• The child must have a serious illness which will be helped with hot tub therapy (this also must be verified by the child’s physician).
• The child must live in a single family home with a backyard where a hot tub can be safely placed and meet ThermoSpas safety requirements.
• The child’s family should not have the financial means to purchase a hot tub on their own.
• The child’s family must agree to provide the proper electric requirements and foundation support for the hot tub.In addition, the family must maintain the hot tub with chemicals as instructed by ThermoSpas and keep the hot tub continually heated for optimum use by the recipient.

In order to be considered for the program, an applicant must satisfactorily complete all sections of this application and submit them online or by mail no later than February 29, 2008. Online applications can be filled out and submitted at: Child Application.

Mailed applications must be postmarked by February 29, 2008. Once the application has been received, the applicant will receive an email verifying its acceptance.

After the submission deadline, the Seasons of Giving selection committee will narrow down the applications to the top candidates and require from them the following:

• A copy of the child’s birth certificate or a copy of legal documents awarding custody of the child to the current guardian.
• A letter from the child’s physician detailing his/her diagnosis and that hot tub therapy would be beneficial for him/her.
• Completed and signed:

1. Authorization for Use/Disclosure of Protected Health Information
2. General Liability Release
3. Medical Authorization
4. Rules and Regulations Agreement
5. Maintenance Agreement
6. Publicity/Information Release

• A one-on-one meeting in the applicant’s home with a program representative.
