Little Boy with CP Has His Wish Granted
Durham, NC - A press conference with Jennifer Misner, Jeff Foxworthy, and Dustin Diamond announced the most recent Seasons of Giving hot tub recipient.
Jonathan, a fifteen-year-old boy born with Cerebral Palsy, is having his wish come true. When Jonathan used his grandfather's hot tub, his muscles relaxed and his stiffness reduced almost immediately. The teen is confined to a wheelchair and had rarely felt such soothing calm or freedom of movement before. Unfortunately, in 1998, his grandfather passed away and Jonathan no longer had access to warm water therapy.
Now, thanks to ThermoSpa, the Dustin Diamond Foundation (Jennifer Misner and "Screech" of Saved By The Bell ) and Duke Children's Hospital, Jonathan will be able to experience the many benefits of warm water therapy in his backyard for as long as he wants, right in his very own hot tub spa.

Described as "very social" by his mother and all who meet him, Jonathan is a typical teen who attends junior high, loves music and adores his dog "Clifford." He also loves to read and receive cards and letters by mail.

"Water therapy is a miracle for Jonathan," said his mother. "While in the water, he relaxes completely. After he has been in the water he can stretch and move his body in ways he could not previously."
According to Jonathan's physical therapist, Jan Fitch of Duke Children's Hospital, "He recently had hip surgery for a dislocated hip and the spa would make exercising to regain his range of motion in his hips and knees much easier for him. It would also allow him greater mobility on a daily basis as moving and exercising on land is very difficult for Jonathan. He loves the water and the warmth of a spa would help relax his spastic muscles."
ThermoSpa is donating its Healing Spa™ hot tub to Jonathan. The Healing Spa was designed in cooperation with the Arthritis Foundation, and it features a special, raised child's seat, 69 water jets for warm water therapy massage, and very easy-to-use knobs and handrails for moving around in the hot tub spa.
