East Peoria Girl with Cerebral Palsy Has Her Wish Granted
Just in Time for Christmas

Naomi H. receives her very own Healing Spa courtesy of ThermoSpas and the Starlight Children’s Foundation.

Naomi, an eleven-year-old from East Peoria who suffers from cerebral palsy (CP) as a result of a traumatic brain injury, is having her wish granted. When Naomi first floated in the local warm water pool, she was hooked immediately. The eleven-year-old is confined to a wheelchair and had not felt such freedom of movement in years. Unfortunately, Naomi is only able to visit that pool for therapy twice a week.

Thanks to ThermoSpas and the Starlight Children's Foundation, now Naomi will be able to experience that freedom of movement right in her own backyard, every day.

Back in April 2001, Naomi - a healthy, lively seven-year-old girl - was injured so severely that she was left with permanent non-accidental traumatic brain injury. As a result of this terrible tragedy, Naomi is now confined to a wheelchair with a diagnosis of cerebral palsy with right hemiplegia.

Truly embodying the "Tiny Tim" spirit of Christmas, Naomi would like to "fly all over the world saving people" and describes herself as "cute, healthy (I can breathe), wealthy (in love) and wise (my brain is getting better)." Naomi lives with her newly adopted parents, Carla and Jim.

ThermoSpas has donated the Healing Spa™ to Naomi. Designed in collaboration with The Arthritis Foundation, The Healing Spa provides warm water therapy for people with muscle and joint pain and is the first hot tub ever to receive the Arthritis Foundation's "Ease of Use" Commendation. It features a special child seat, 69 therapy jets and easy-to-use knobs and handrails.

ThermoSpas Seasons of Giving program donates hot tubs to children with serious illnesses who will benefit from warm water therapy. For more information on ThermoSpas Seasons of Giving program or to nominate a child to be considered for a hot tub donation, please click here.
