It was only a matter of time until someone released a book about loosing weight in a hot tub. In a clinical study published by The New England Journal of Medicine, it was discovered that soaking in your hot tub can help you lose weight and even reduce the appearance of cellulite!
In this book, The Hot Tub Diet, the author talks about her obsession with the gym; spending hours on the treadmill going nowhere and seeing no results. A car accident left her with neck injuries and an order from the doctor to not participate in any strenuous exercise. During the 6 months of her recovery she continued to attend her gym, but all she could do was sit in the hot tub. After these 6 months of nothing but leisurely time in the hot tub, she found that she had lost a substantial amount of weight!
This is one person’s unique story, but the connection between weight loss and hot tubs is backed by scientific research. Researcher’s were conducting a study on how hot tubs can benefit people with diabetes by lowering blood sugar levels. During this study, they also found that the subjects were losing a pound a week, and also showing a reduction in cellulite.
