Hot Tub Frequently Asked Questions
- How to prime a pump
- The best way is to put the pump into high speed and loosen pump union just a little bit to let the air escape, then tighten the union back up.
- Some models have self-priming pumps, so this is not necessary.
- What to do if the FLO message on display
- Flashing FLO- First make sure filters are clean and seated properly. Make sure water level is up to the correct line on the filter assembly. Prime pump to free air pocket if any.
- Solid FLO- You need to make an adjustment on the pressure switch itself with power to the spa, turn the calibration wheel 1/2 clockwise to full turn. The switch is very sensitive and sometimes needs a slight adjustment.
- How to get LOC off the control panel Flashing (LOC) 2000D/1900D
- To remove LOC off panel for a 1900D/ 2000D, first press "up temperature" arrow immediately, followed by the light button.
- What is DR
- DR means there is inadequate water detected in the heater, and on 3rd occurrence of this control panel will display dr4 or dry.
- Resolve: Prime pump and make sure all T valves are up before contacting service for further trouble shooting.
- How come the 24 hour circulation pump turns on for 3 minutes then shuts off
- With the new addition of the 24 hour circulation pump they are set to turn on for 3 minutes then shut off once the spa goes over the desired temperature to eliminate heat gain from pump.
- How to change the filters if the pump runs for 24 hours
- On some Thermospas models it is impossible to change the filters while the pump is on, so the spa must be put on standby/sleep mode. (Please refer to the owners manual or special operating instructions)
- What does O3 mean on the control panel
- Simply means that if you have an ozonator in your spa, then it is running. If you don't have one, this is an option. Please call the service department if you wish to order one or have one installed.
- Note: If O3 doesn't show up on your control panel this doesn't mean your ozonator isn't working. O3 shows up periodically and the ozonator works even when the light isn't on.
- Note: To ensure your ozonator is working, make sure the light is on during the filtration cycle.
- I am going away on vacation, should I winterize my spa
- Winterizing your spa while you're on vacation is not only smart, but could save you operational costs. You won't need to have someone check on it every 24 hrs. Also, if the power goes out or freezes, this will eliminate any freeze damage- which isn't covered under any warranty. NOTE: It is the customers' responsibility to keep the spa from freezing.
- What are ThermoSpas rates
- $50.00- dispatch fee, $25.00- per 1/4 hr.
- Does ThermoSpas service competitor's spas
- Yes, but please call for more details.
- What is F1, F2, PL and TL on the control panel
- F1- filter cycle 1, F2- filter cycle, PL- panel lock, TL- temperature lock.
- Why does the pump constantly run
- You may either have a 24 hr. circ pump, or your heater may be malfunctioning.
- What to do when spa temperature exceeds set temp
- First check the length of filter cycle. If spa is heating /filtering longer than it should, it will raise temp. Also during summer months it is very common for temp to jump 5-10 degrees over set temp. Adjust set temp down 5-10 degrees below your comfortable level. To bring temp down immediately remove some water and replace it with cold water. Then use blower option to send cooler air bubbles into water. You can also remove insulation behind cabinet panels. It is most economical to keep spa in economy mode when not in use.
- Why does the pump shut off after 30 minutes
- It is a safety feature- it does it automatically.
- Does ThermoSpas have an online parts list
- Unfortunately not at this time.
