Dear ThermoSpas Inc., We have used our Park Avenue Spa regularly every since we installed it about 2 years ago. When we first decided to buy the unit, we agreed that this would be a year round enjoyment. To make this happen we needed to have the unit protected from the elements. Therefore, we made special arrangements to build a Conservatory around the spa itself. After pouring a foundation then installing floor joists we had the spa placed on the pressure treated plywood floor. Your delivery personnel did this very delicately and professionally. With the help of dollies placed under the spa, we were able to effortlessly move the unit around our 225 sq.ft. room while we erected the all glass conservatory. The final touches included a ceramic tile floor installed in quadrants and perimeter baseboard heating. This spa probably traveled atleast 3 miles during the process (just kidding). Of course the best part was not worrying too much when we had rain since the spa protected about 1/3 of the floor area. We simply “bailed” out of the water after rain storms until the clear ceiling was finally installed. A large deck was built surrounding the conservatory. After a relatively short “adjustment” period we learned the function of each jet and valve and began to understand how to control water flow. The electronics controlling temperature adjustment was easily metered. This is when “fun, relaxation and healing” began! Fun We have had many hours of “fun” time with friends and relatives but the best of times is when our grandchildren, ages 2 (boy) and 4 (girl), come to visit “gram” and “gramps”. They love playing with their floating toys and go wild when we turn on all the pumps including the air. Their mom and dad have use the opportunity to teach them how to “float” in calm water. What a wonderful way of teaching children the basics in a non-threatening environment with complete safety! Of course they have had so many hours in the spa that they now know how to stay afloat by themselves and do the dog paddle. The girl has now been enrolled in swimming lessons and is doing extremely well having had the benefit of “pre-swimming” lessons. Relaxation It is difficult to estimate the number of wonderful hours of relaxation this spa has provided. Suffice to say that some portion of each session has relaxation included. To us, relaxation means to sit while there is very little water movement. The best of times occurs when the cleaning cycle is on low with the air control in the off position. We each sit in our favorite seat, close our eyes, relax our arms as they float lazily on top of the water and listen to gentle soft music while incense fills the air with natural fragrances. Most of the time we adjust water temperature to 96 deg F. The controls are very accurate and they maintain this temperature throughout our stay in the tub, which usually lasts one hour. We relax in other ways too. This past winter saw numerous snowstorms in New Hampshire and since we are retired we had occasion to sit many hours with the shades up watching the snowfall in quiet serenity. To add to our pleasure were the many birds coming to our feeder for treats. Talk about a “stress free environment”! Even stormy days are good days when you have a ThermoSpa to retreat to. How inviting it is to sit and meditate in soothing water while raindrops falling on our conservatory roof resonate throughout the room. Healing How fortunate we are to have a place to go to relieve our recurring “hurts”. In my case, lower back problems and varicose veins can and do cause uncomfortable times. Relief is not far away in this home. I often get soothing attention by sitting on the “wave lounge” and with my legs stretched out I adjust the wave to remain stationary in the area below my knees and let the water bubbles constantly massage the area of pain. The warmth of the water and the constant massage from the water jets offers marvelous relaxation and relief to the legs. Even a professional masseuse can’t duplicate the comfort factor I get from the lounge. On days when my back aches, I can seek relief in the form of the large round jet situated below the lights. I belief this is called a whirlpool jet that allows one to control the water flow to different parts of the spa. I adjust it to obtain maximum flow across my lower back and sit in this position for as long as I want. Oh, what relief this brings! But the beauty of this spa doesn’t end there. My back therapy also consists of utilizing the massage jet, which vibrates every part of the lower back, or I make use of the seat having both pulsating and laser jets. When all of these are turned on to maximum and combined with air I experience the mother of all back massages! My wife also has lower back pain and enjoys the massage jet and takes advantage of the tremendous water action experienced throughout the length of the “wave lounge”. Other benefits When our daughter visits us she always makes time to experience the spa. She uses all the features found within the unit and especially enjoys the swirl, therapy and pulsating jets. I asked her once what does she feel like when leaving the spa. Her answer, “my skin feels so smooth!” Not too long ago her boyfriend visited with her and had that day pulled his hamstring muscle while playing baseball. Belief it or not he sat in the spa and after some period of time announced that the pain was gone and his muscle was completely relaxed allowing him to stretch without discomfort. It made us feel good to know that our spa definitely provides healing benefits. Reliability/Service Since our purchase we have had little problem with the spa. A minor switch replacement preformed by a competent technician within just a few days after calling your factory fixed the problem. We are very pleased with your field personnel. We’ve also changed the chemical system from Chlorine to one recommended by your customer care department. ThermoClear, your natural mineral purifier, has been better, much better than any expectations we had. It has virtually eliminated “foam”, and keeps the water sparkling much longer. Have also noted that I don’t have to clean and change the filters as often. I’ve also saved money by not having to use a water clarifier and stain/scale preventer.
