Did we need to invest in the Gemini ThermoSpa? No, we didn’t. Nor did we need that lovely bottle of wine with our dinner last night. We could have lived without the soft music we enjoyed as we watched the sunset and we certainly don’t need an open sunroof as we drive through the countryside on a warm, sunny afternoon. Pianos are nice, but they aren’t a necessity and neither are trips to the ocean, desert, or mountains… but they are all good for the soul. And that’s the point. No one needs a ThermoSpa. No one needs a television either, or air conditioning, or fresh cut flowers but once you’ve lived with them it’s hard to imagine life without them. We do get used to our luxuries and, in fact, isn’t it the luxuries that we are really working for each day? We could do without a lot of things and get by just fine, but the quality of our lives is vastly improved by the luxuries we enjoy. A drive in the country on a beautiful afternoon is a bit nicer with the top down or the sunroof open, isn’t it? A wonderful meal is just that more delicious with an excellent vintage; a beautiful sunset can be just a bit more majestic with Debussy. Imagine a cold winter night. It has been snowing all day but the clouds have passed and there is a huge full moon bathing everything in a shade of midnight blue that is so beautiful it almost doesn’t look real. It’s quiet, very quiet, except for the sound of the branches creaking gently with the weight of the snow. There is the faint smell of wood burning somewhere in the distance and the air is so cold that when you breathe, frost floats softly in front of you. You are in this frozen beauty, but you are immersed in warmth and comfort. You sit in the warm silence for a long time, enjoying the light, the sounds, the smells of winter. You close your eyes and the tensions of the day melt into the water. Sure you can live without this. You could stay in side and miss the subtle beauty just outside your door, but with ThermoSpa you can be part of this magical winter night. We’ve survived fifty winters, often chilled to the bones, but this past winter we indulged ourselves. After driving through snow storms or shoveling walkways until we were sore, we pampered ourselves. This spring, we’ve continued pampering ourselves after tending to the gardens or playing golf. And as summer arrives, we are finding out that our ThermoSpa is as pleasant on a warm summer night, with the scent of lilacs and the sound of birds as it was during the winter. Our ThermoSpa has become one of those luxuries that would be very hard to live without. It may be therapeutically good for the body but it’s real value goes beyond the merely physical. No, we didn’t need to invest in a ThermoSpa, but thank goodness we did! |
