My Soothing Prayer
Have you ever searched for healing waters? I have, and so many others. The search for healing waters has appeared throughout history; we all remember the search for the fountain of youth. And Sir William Johnson, superintendent of Indian affairs, engaged Native Americans to take him to the healing mineral waters in the Saratoga Springs country on the fringes of the Adirondacks before our country was born. As early as August 1767, some Iroquois braves took the sick Sir William Johnson, with swollen legs and failing eyesight, some thirty miles north east of Johnstown to a little valley on the edge of the first southern foothill of the Adirondacks. It was the location of their secret spring where they had found healing bubbly waters for hundreds of years. Sir William wrote of this amazing healing spring. There is nothing like water to raise your spirits. Have you ever noticed how some sing loudly and joyfully in the shower? And did you ever sit in water and let out a good laugh? Little children do it; my children and grandchildren enjoy many happy hours in our hot tub. Watch the joy people find at the water parks. All of these point to the healing power of water; joy and laughter contribute to good health and those who partake are the winners. I have found a way to replicate the healing Adirondack waters in my home. We are supplied with fresh Adirondack waters from the hills of Jackson Summit. Combining these waters with therapeutic action of a hot tub brings those healing powers to daily access. I parted with one of my priceless Adirondack rustic furniture pieces for my, now priceless, woodland green phoenix ThermoSpas hot tub with the bubble system; my aging brain needs those negative ions that keep it clear and lifts my spirits. Too bad Sir Williams is not here to join me. It has been said that after 65 you do not get up in the morning and ask “Am I going to have aches and pains today?” you ask “Where are my aches and pains going to be today?” Putting the therapeutic waters of my hot tub to work speeds the relief and contributes to a good night’s sleep. My in-house “Adirondack hot spring” works for me. I have a soothing prayer which I have shared over the years; it has a serene, calming effect when it is interjected in our fast paced, stress filled daily lives. One of the lines asks, “Break the tension of my nerves and muscles with soothing music of the singing waters that live in my memory.” My Phoenix ThermoSpas hot tub does that for me and my loved ones. Sincerely, Donald Williams
